| Welcome in Tombeboeuf. Our village gathered at the top of a hill in an environment made up of slopes and small valleys, varying between 100 and 170 m of height above the sea level. Tombeboeuf owes its name to the pope Clément V d'Avignon. Tumba is a Greek word indicating a hillock of earth and the bove, the ox. When the French language will become legal, under François the 1st, it will be named : Tombeboeuf. Our only aim : sharing with you our curiosity on the originality of the name of our village, which has a rather amusing effect. We invite you to come to discover it. |
