MONCLAR D'AGENAIS |
|

| Welcome in Monclar. Perched in 187 m of height, Monclar is a Bastide founded in 1256 by Alphonse de Poitiers, count of Toulouse. It became then the leader place of the canton, with its splendid panorama on the valleys of the Lot et Tolzac. Time left its print and we can admire in this ancient bastide superb houses with corbelling of XIIth century. The church St Clair, with the classified porch, is a large late Gothic building of XVIth century. On the charming marketplace which preserved its traditional corners, is, as formerly, the City hall. Monclar is a stopping-off place of the famous St Jacques de Compostelle's road. The Tourist Office of Monclar will welcome you all the year. |
