| Welcome in Le Temple sur Lot. Rainford The 1st, Lord of Montpezat, is at the origin of the foundation of the Commanderie du Temple de Breuil, at the end of the XIIth century. During the XIVth century, after the arrest of the Knight Templars and the dissolution of this order, the village was founded, which became a place of rest for the pilgrims but also for soldiers, and the control point of the river business. After the 109 years war, the Commanderie was reconstructed in Toulousian bricks. Then arise the religious wars which will weaken the domain of the Temple de Breuil. In 1789, the Revolution will end the historic role of the Commanderie. Now, it is a place of reception (restaurant, bar).
