Welcome in Castelmoron-sur-Lot.

Castelmoron-sur-Lot already invites you, by the means of its name whose, according to a belief, the ethymology would be Castle of the Moors ("Château des Maures"). The city was called "Mauron" to remember it the Moors who would have founded it, then Castelmoron.
In fact, it could be said that its ethymology would be "Castle of the Marshes", because the plain was very marshy at a certain time.

Its lanmarks and monuments are varied:

the central place with its market, its water jet, its gardens,
the church St Hilaire with its 3 naves,
the old Solar Castle which shelters the Town hall today,
the place of the fort,
the suspension bridge whose arches have 141 m of opening,
the source of Fonfrède,
and the Castle of Comarque.

You will also discover a pretty view-point on the Lot valley, at the Rock of Castelmoron.
